<<< 09/25/2019 This is not the end This is not the end. We return to the reality of our lives, to the routine, whether university or work, but none of us is the same person after what we have experienced in Panama these days. Some for longer, others for shorter, but we have all lived what I would dare to say has been one of the most revolutionary experiences of our lives. Revolutionary in the Hakuna style. We have surrendered ourselves to God, we have put our lives entirely at His disposal, and I can say with great conviction that He has acted through each and every one of us. Through our smiles, glances, words, and actions. We have lived as revolutionary children of a Father who loves us and gives us the most incredible love there is; He loves us madly, and when one realizes that, one loves others almost the same way. A sacrifice that doesn’t cost, that doesn’t need to be asked for because it comes from within: we give everything for those who need us without it costing us. We have dug, scraped walls, painted, built, but above all, we have lived as true crazy lovers of God. Yesterday, upon arriving in Panama from Saboga, the taxi driver taking us home described our experience as a fast from all luxury. How right he was, and how easy it has been even though it may seem strange to many. Without any comfort, no mirrors, no four-legged beds, with shared bathrooms and limited showers (very limited indeed), we have been happy and have spread that happiness by giving ourselves to all those who needed us, effortlessly. Why? Because a Christian who lives madly in love with God embraces life as it comes, lives it, and squeezes it to the fullest: giving himself completely without needing great luxuries. We have rediscovered what Faith means, because as a Portuguese friend, also a pilgrim, said: “God will provide, sister,” which implies that we learn to embrace life as it comes, being revolutionaries of God’s love and living life to the fullest, no matter what comes. This does not mean that we have to set aside our active stance towards life, but now we are aware that God is present in every situation, and if we act in Him, we will be much happier. Today we are already revolutionaries of Christ, true fools of God’s love, we are HAKUNERS. Let us continue with this in our lives and spread God’s love and goodness; let us be young people who live the now with the greatest intensity possible, just as the Pope asked us at the WYD. >>>
