Die to Rise
Here I am, Lord, with no expectations, not knowing how much this God Stop is going to change my life. For now, my only intention is to spend the weekend with you and, from there, let whatever needs to come out, come out.
“God can only resurrect me in those realities where I have died.” And then, something clicked in me. Everything I had been holding on to for so long, where I had been placing my trust, my hopes, and my whole life, was no longer valid, no longer for me. Not because it suddenly lost its value, but because I realized that, without God, everything I had been building with so much effort was inevitably falling apart in the face of any difficulty. And no, Lord, that is not what I want.
This weekend you made me realize how much you love me and that, when you love someone so much, you only want the best. And that is why you want me free, Lord, free to be able to choose You above relationships where you are not present, above putting my interests first, above everything.
That is why only the word “Thank you” can come out of my mouth. Thank you for helping me let go of something I never thought I could let go of. And, although that does not mean that from now on everything will be a bed of roses, because it is not, not at all, I feel that now I am one step closer to the plans you have for me. And, this weekend you taught me that I cannot keep filling my emptiness with anything or anyone other than You and that unconditional love you have for me.
Because I, who came with no expectations, am going home with my life turned upside down and with the mission to rediscover my true self, although this time, I intend to do it right: through You, your word, and always, always, by your side.
With You, Father, crossing the shore is less frightening.
