“The Word is born without a voice”

Yesterday, on my way to the GS, I was struck by this line from the new Christmas carol that I had surely heard, though not listened to, before: “The Word is born without a voice.” And today I realize that, even so, it is shouting the madness of your Love for each one of us. And despite this shout, many of us remain deaf. Forgive us, Jesus.

Sometimes it is so hard for me to realize that you dwell in me, that you are in me; that no matter what happens and whatever I do, you never, ever stop being in my heart, transfiguring my life… that was what the GS was about.

You lead me to the desert but do not abandon me there, you remain by my side, and so it becomes a time of salvation. I do not understand but I must trust, only you have words of Life, in every circumstance of my life. Do not let me doubt this truth you teach me: I understand nothing but I trust. As the saint from Ávila said: “Let the soul keep trust and blind faith, for whoever believes and hopes achieves everything.”

I learned this weekend that only if I give you everything that is in me, with absolute freedom, will You be able to act because I will let you act. It was very good for me to remember that, with Christmas very near, you only wait for my “yes” like the one Mary gave you.

In every GS you surpass yourself Jesus, how great you come to us!
