The Good Life or the Good Life of Jesus

<<< 12/31/2018 The Good Life or the Good Life of Jesus I am the father of a “Hakunero” who encouraged us to come to Rome. What an experience!!! When we returned, our son thanked us for the trip... we were the ones who should have thanked him!!! What a “whirlwind” of the Holy Spirit!!! Just arriving at the campsite on Thursday night, late, I was already amazed... We went out for a walk around the Flamingo, hundreds of young people, hugs, genuine smiles, “beers,” Kinder Buenos... The joy that the Pope asked us for the next day!! He introduced me to his friends and it was as if I had known them forever, I realized we were in for a special weekend!! And what a weekend it was!!! Meeting the Pope, Saint Peter for us, reminded me of when we left the parish in our town after Mass and the doorman “hugs” us because he wants to close the gate, we were at home!!! When the Pope spoke to us, I wanted to jump up and hug him (Don Josepe will kill me). He asked us for forgiveness for a thousand things!!!! I wanted to shout at him, I am the one who should be asking forgiveness for so many times I have failed the Church, you, and all my brothers... Holy Mass in Trastevere, beautiful. But something that touched my heart was Father Bianchi’s talk. He said few things and very simple ones but I stayed with one idea that I can’t get out of my head: “Jesus lived a Good, Beautiful, and Happy Life” I have always thought of Jesus’ life as a mystical, sacrificial one, ended by brutal suffering for us, for me!!! I never thought that Christ had a good time in this world, honestly I had never considered it. But Father Bianchi made me see that Jesus enjoyed this Earth. Friendships, nature, food... When I think of the Wedding at Cana I love it!! It was already the end of the wedding: Jesus could have said, come on, come on, you’ve all drunk too much, everyone go home... and instead he turns water into wine, (and what wine). I imagine his after-meals with his friends from Bethany. I think of his walks with the disciples through those lands... smiles, joy, hugs, jokes... “looking out” for each other... “All for all.” Just like the weekend we lived at the HAM!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The Revolution has arrived!! >>>
