Vocation
Our destiny is heaven, to spend eternal life with you.
You created us in your image, and our life is a pilgrimage to become more and more like you. It is our calling that will culminate in heaven.
Today Jesus, I recognize the universal vocation to which you call me. To give myself with all my soul, my body, and my being.
A vocation to surrender, to belonging to your people, to unity with you, and to communion.
That all, regardless of state of life, can develop and live our vocation, because it is universal.
The ascension of love
Jesus, teach me to ascend in love.
From physical attraction to affection, sharing my inner world.
From affection to affirming the value of the other person as they are, with their defects and virtues. That the “we” may be born.
And finally to see it as a path toward God, saying an infinite yes to a finite being since the life of both points to the ultimate end, communion with God.
Sin
Jesus,
You have revealed to me how sin entered humanity.
You have revealed to me the serpent’s deception: thinking that by turning away from God I would reach the longing of my heart.
You have revealed to me how the harmony of your original design was broken, tensions arose between man and woman, the logic of domination entered, and the harmonious creation you gave us becomes stranger and more hostile.
You have revealed to me that the serpent’s temptation is always a lie. That it must not be given space because talking with temptation is beginning to fall into it.
If God is not satisfied, why would it fill my heart that is made in his image?
Jesus, today I recognize the path of destruction I enter when I do not count on you in my relationship.
That I do not take you out of the horizon, for the relationship will lose its meaning and I will believe that we are the end.
That I do not reduce the other to an object of my happiness, for it will separate us more and more.
That I may live the logic of gift and work so that the logic of domination is not fueled.
That I am attentive to signs of my disordered sexuality as a man and she to being a prisoner.
Salvation and redemption
But you have also revealed to me that Jesus has already won.
That he not only comes to redeem us from our sins.
That salvation goes beyond giving oneself to carry our sins.
Salvation is above all to bring to fullness his covenant with us.
