<<< 07/06/2023 LIVING Post Santa Fe Letter 2023 It is very difficult to describe the feelings after this getaway. At first, I could say it was an answer to many searches I had in my life. From the beginning, with the Mass, I noticed something different; it was truly the most beautiful Mass of my life, with devotion and those fantastic songs. I have done many retreats, camps, formation meetings, but nothing like a getaway. It was LIVING close to Jesus for a weekend, enjoying life and loving God at all times. Hakuna is a perfect harmony between tradition and novelty. It respects the center, which is Jesus in the Eucharist, but with details that make those moments a little piece of heaven. You can feel in every moment that love that comes from Eucharistic adoration. Something incredible I noticed was that there was nothing “supernatural,” but it was something simple and straightforward yet different. Finding God in that simplicity is difficult, but Hakuna makes it easy. And I believe God is that simple; we are the ones who complicate everything many times. Without appealing to “sentimentality” in adoration but focusing on enjoying that time with Jesus and letting him transform our hearts. I leave thirsty to know more about Hakuna, to learn and share this spirituality and this beautiful way of living faith. I believe God acts in every moment of history to support His Church in times of difficulty. He promised us: “I will be with you until the end of time.” I consider that Hakuna is the tool God wants to use in our times to return to the foundations of faith in these very hard times. But from the side of freedom and love, not from demand, obligation, or duty. And also from the side of beauty and art. Music and beauty lift our soul to heaven. That is the fantastic part. Nowhere did I feel so FREE as this weekend. When I returned from the getaway, I had a Corpus Christi adoration at my parish. I usually don’t sing, or if I do, it’s very timidly. And this time it was so different from other times; I sang stronger than ever, without fear of making mistakes or shame. All with that freedom to be myself 100 percent that I found in the getaway, with that desire to do things “With all my soul,” to go to sleep tired from so much love, as I’m sure many experienced these days. Finally, I leave with the certainty and conviction that I want to tell God every day of my life: “Lord, you are free to do in me whatever you want.” That is what I did this weekend, and I found a peace and happiness impossible to describe. Thank you, Hakuna, for so much! >>>
