I don’t even know how to start or how to express…

<<< 03/17/2023 I don’t even know how to start or how to accurately express my PAM experience. My personal journey of Faith can be summarized as: Lord, how badly you treat your friends. How badly you have repaid me for so many years of bringing souls closer to God, of living my state with absolute fidelity to the teachings of the Church. “You have set me a Job I don’t deserve and from which I will not survive.” Obviously, hurt, I have continued to maintain this friendship, but without hope, looking through glasses tinted with cosmic pessimism, and a suspicious distrust towards any display of religiosity, piety, and do-goodism. I had no idea what Hakuna was a few months ago. The buzz started in my ear when a friend told me she had taken her quite skeptical nieces to a concert by a group with a somewhat Disney-like name (that’s what it seemed to me), and they came out impressed and with personal resolutions to get closer to the Church and to God. Second buzz: another friend tells me she’s going to Rome with “Hakuna” and that she is impressed to see young, lively, joyful, normal people kneeling for hours before the Blessed Sacrament. Third buzz: I start going to some adorations where, in a very, very intimate and special way, I begin to feel again the tenderness and sweetness of the God of my youth. Although the hugging songs initially overwhelm me, I have to admit it. Fourth buzz: in the unpredictable current life, where being absent from my family obligations for a simple weekend plan is a logistical odyssey, I manage to accompany a friend to the PAM with practically no effort (I have no idea what they are or what I will find). And suddenly, there, I stumble upon reflections that are exact echoes (even in the literal wording of some expressions) of what my soul has been pondering in recent years, once, twice, many times... They have been like continuous winks of complicity given to me by the Holy Spirit. Truly, for me it has been a hug from God, a revelation of His closeness, a return to savoring the sweetness of a friendship that had become dry, forced, lonely, and resigned. It’s hard to express: the closest thing I can think of is that I have come to enjoy again the warmth of God’s lap, I have come home. I have also learned what a “pringado,” a “revolcadero,” a “God Stop” are, how Hakuna was born, I saw Don Josepe in action, young people excited and committed to life, not-so-young people delighted to sit on the floor, endure some heat and discomfort, and enjoy it as much or more than the youngest. And I was amazed again by the beautiful, fresh, and updated things the Holy Spirit is capable of inspiring in His Church... to keep giving life. Congratulations. You don’t know, with “guest” eyes, how beautiful Hakuna is. >>>
